1. Support of Molten Salt & Fusion Reactors. These fourth generation nuclear reactors are very safe, produce little radioactive waste, can consume waste from Water Cooled Reactors, are terrorism resistant, are a proven technology, are much less expensive and smaller than current water cooled reactors. Positioning them to replace coal based electrical power can drastically to cut down on carbon emissions.

B. Molten Salt Reactors (MSR)
Terrestrial Energy - most advanced, approval in process, for profit, Canada and US.
Energy Northwest - non-profit working with Terrestrial Energy to place MSRs in US.

C. Fusion Reactors A number of companies are exploring the development of fusion energy using techniques at a fraction of the size and cost of the ITER which has yet to be effective.

3. Negative Emission Technology (NET) Removal of carbon and methane from the atmosphere.

A. Direct Carbon Capture - Widely proposed systems for direct removal of CO2 from the atmosphere. The energy required for this process can be supplied by solar to Molten Salt Reactors.

B. Conversion of crops to perennials - Perennials are huge carbon sinks, use less water, less fertilizer, and less petroleum than annual crops.

C. Enhanced Weathering using Croplands

D. Ocean Farming - no fertilizer, no antibiotics and no water - making it the most sustainable form of food production on the planet, absorbs up to five times the amount of carbon as land-based plants, removes CO2 from the ocean which helps to counteract ocean acidification.

E. Clean Concrete Concrete is the most abundant man-made material in the world; it is the backbone of modern society. But cement, the critical ingredient that gives concrete its strength, is responsible for up to 7% of the world's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. CarbonCure manufactures a bolt-on technology that introduces recycled CO2 into fresh concrete.

F. Methane Methane is responsible for a significant amount of global warming. A large percentage of atmospheric methane is contributed by cattle burping and farting methane. Novel methods have been proposed for the removal of methane and other non-CO2 greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

6. Geo-engineering
Geo-engineering is not a NET in that it is independent of CO2 and methane. It is a controversial approach to global warming which involves placing various substances into the atmosphere for the purpose of cooling the earth. It has been said that, “Not talking about geo-engineering is the greatest mistake we can make right now.”
